FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Are Plus One Photo Tours suitable for Novices?

Yes, we welcome all levels of expertise, including iphone camera users. You will be asked to complete a questionnaire when you book your tour so that we can be sure that we tailor our expertise to the relevant levels of knowledge on the tour.

Can I stay for a few extra days?

Yes you can but we would advise that you will need to sort out alternative accommodation and travel arrangements. Our TravelLocal partner company in each destination will be very happy to help you with this and make it as easy as possible for you to stay longer in the region – this can be arranged as part of the booking process when you book your Photo Tour.

What is the accommodation like?

The majority of our accommodation is 4-5* standard. However, in more remote parts of the world, the accommodation may be a little more basic. We are very keen to provide the best quality accommodation possible and we will have stayed there ourselves previously when researching the area. You can be assured of a comfortable stay!

What type of food is served?

This will depend on the individual tour that you choose. We aim to provide the best quality local food where we can. If the accommodation is a villa, we will bring in local caterers that have been recommended and used before. If the accommodation is a hotel, then the food will be served by them, but again you can be assured that this will have been quality tested before the tour is booked. We are all foodies as well as photographers so would be very unhappy to compromise our eating! We will also cater for any food intolerances/allergies – please specify on the enquiry form where requested.

What is the group size?

We aim to keep the groups to a maximum of 8 photographers plus partners to ensure that as much individual attention can be given to each tour member as and when required. Including partners, the group size will be no more than 16 people.

Do you book the flights?

No, but we have an affiliated flight company.  See below for details:

Where do we meet to begin the tour?

You will be sent a detailed itinerary as soon as you have booked and paid for the tour. This will give the details of where you will be picked up from. It is generally an airport or train station, but this may vary according to the individual tour. You will be given the exact time and location that all guests will be collected from.

Do you cater for special needs/disabilities?

Before you book your tour, you will be sent a questionnaire, which forms part of the enquiry form, asking you to give details of any specific requirements you may have. We will then do our utmost to make sure that you are catered for. Some tours may not be suitable for wheelchair users and no tours are suitable for children. Some tours require some strenuous walking, but again, you will be given details on this.

Do I need travel insurance?

Yes, you will be required to have travel insurance for both yourself and your camera equipment. It is a requirement of any tour you take with Plus One Photo Tours that you have secured travel insurance before your trip and you will be asked to confirm that you have it on the enquiry form.

What about vaccinations and visas?

You will be sent a specific itinerary for the tour that you have booked. This will contain details of websites you can refer to for further information on whether you need a visa or any vaccines for the country you’re travelling to.
